Le Bagadais d’Albert a été photographié pour la première fois lors d’une expédition récente organisée dans la République Démocratique du Congo
Au cours d'une expédition organisée entre décembre 2023 et janvier 2024 dans les monts Itombwe, jusqu'à 18 individus de cette espèce qui n'avait pas été notée depuis près de vingt ans ont été observés.
