Comparatif des longues-vues Kowa 883, Zeiss Diascope 85 et Swarovski ATS 80HD

Marcelo Brongo has organised a test to compare the Kowa 883 Prominar, the Zeiss Diascope T FL 85 and the Swarovski ATS 80HD spotting-scopes. We present here the results of this test.
The Kowa has the best definition. The contrast and transmission of colors are excellent with the three scopes. Kowa and Swarovski are the most neutral. Zeiss is a little bit yellower. The reducing of the chromatic aberration is more efficient with the Kowa. Concerning the distortion at the periphery of the picture, Kowa is second after Swarovski. Concerning the luminosity, Kowa is lightly superior than the two others, but slightly.
Despite its 88 mm diameter, the Kowa is the shortest scope, very compact but it is also the heaviest (1,8 kg with the zoom eyepiece 20-60x). The focus system is the same as the one of Zeiss, with two knobs.
